A person read every profile here before it went live. Photos stay private until one of you accepts the other’s interest, and then you see each other’s. Your phone and email are never shown to anyone. Photos appear when she approves your request. Every interest you send carries a note you wrote, so make it count. Her contact details are never shown; she shares them if she wants to.
Victoria has the largest Sikh population of any Australian state, more than 91,000 people at the 2021 census, and most of them live in Greater Melbourne.
The north (Craigieburn, Wollert) and the west (Tarneit, Truganina, Point Cook) are the two big Punjabi corridors, with the south-east (Cranbourne, Officer, Pakenham) growing fastest.
The South Asian community in Melbourne is strongest in Craigieburn, Tarneit, Truganina, Point Cook, Cranbourne, Officer, Pakenham and Wollert, and the Ramgarhia community gathers around the gurdwaras in Craigieburn, Blackburn, Keysborough, Tarneit and Officer. On Rishta you can search Melbourne alone, or widen it to the whole of Australia, or to Australia and New Zealand together.
Ramgarhia families in Australia and New Zealand often arrived by way of East Africa or the UK as much as directly from Punjab, and that shows in what they look for: someone who understands a family that has already moved twice. Community is a filter here if you want it, with “caste no bar” always available, and family origin is a field of its own, with East Africa and the UK alongside India, so a family that came by way of Nairobi or Birmingham does not have to explain it from scratch.

A note from the founder
I spent six months on a paid plan on the biggest matrimonial site in the world, searching honestly for someone to marry from here. I found roughly ten men for every woman, a paid plan that produced nothing, and a fake profile I could make in minutes.
Rishta is what I wished had existed: women free with nothing held back, photos hidden until she says yes, every profile ID-checked before it goes live, every interest written by hand, no phone numbers on the page, and a matchmaker who is never from your own town. I built it because I am looking too.
