Built for Indians
who live here.
Not an extension of an Indian platform. Not a casual dating app. A matrimonial site designed from the ground up for Indian families in Australia and New Zealand, whether they arrived last year or four generations ago.
Diwali at Federation Square or Gurpurab in Takanini, a call home every Sunday, and a partner who gets all of it without it needing to be explained.
Why we exist
About 976,000 people in Australia reported an Indian-related ancestry at the 2021 census, and 292,092 people in New Zealand identified as Indian in 2023, now the largest Asian ethnic group in that country. Well over a million people across the two, from Punjab, Gujarat, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Fiji and everywhere between.
The big matrimonial sites were built for India first. Sign up from Sydney or Auckland and your city is a filter on top of a product made for someone in Mumbai: your matches may be in Delhi, and residency status, or whether someone would move across the Tasman, is an afterthought.
And they have the problems everyone in the community already knows about: profiles nobody has read, photos every member can scroll past by default, and a founder who made a working fake profile on the biggest of them in minutes.
We built Rishta because this community deserves a platform that was designed for them — not retrofitted for them.
What we stand for
Trust over traffic
We would rather have fewer members, every one of them ID-checked and looked over by a person, than a big number full of profiles nobody checked. Trust is the product.
Aligned with your success
Our success refund exists because we mean it. We don't want you on this platform forever. We want you to find your person.
Respect for tradition
We don't remove caste filters or pretend culture doesn't matter. We present it respectfully, with user control over depth.
No dark patterns
No VIP upsells in your final two weeks. No locking messages behind paywalls for women. No fake urgency. No tricks.
Built for Australia and New Zealand
Profiles, messages and photos are stored in Cloudflare’s Oceania region. We follow the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020: you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, have it corrected, or delete your account and everything on it.
