A person read every profile here before it went live. Photos stay private until one of you accepts the other’s interest, and then you see each other’s. Your phone and email are never shown to anyone. Photos appear when she approves your request. Every interest you send carries a note you wrote, so make it count. Her contact details are never shown; she shares them if she wants to.
Melbourne’s South Asian Muslim community is strongest in the north and west, around Broadmeadows, Roxburgh Park and the newer western suburbs.
The South Asian community in Melbourne is strongest in Craigieburn, Tarneit, Truganina, Point Cook, Cranbourne, Officer, Pakenham and Wollert. On Rishta you can search Melbourne alone, or widen it to the whole of Australia, or to Australia and New Zealand together.
For Muslim families the arrangement matters as much as the match: family involved from the start, a wali, no unsupervised back-and-forth, and a clear answer on sect and how practising a household is. That is closer to how Rishta already works than to how dating apps work. Photos are hidden until she approves a specific person, contact details are never displayed at any membership level, and a matchmaker can host the first call between the two of you, for a fee, instead of leaving it to a chat window.

A note from the founder
I spent six months on a paid plan on the biggest matrimonial site in the world, searching honestly for someone to marry from here. I found roughly ten men for every woman, a paid plan that produced nothing, and a fake profile I could make in minutes.
Rishta is what I wished had existed: women free with nothing held back, photos hidden until she says yes, every profile ID-checked before it goes live, every interest written by hand, no phone numbers on the page, and a matchmaker who is never from your own town. I built it because I am looking too.
