For women · free, always

Free for women. Every part of it.

Not a free tier with the good parts locked. Searching, photos, interests, messages and calls, all of it. You choose who can find you, your photos stay hidden until you approve someone, and there is no membership anyone can buy that reveals your number.

Matches 6 of 7 of your preferences

A person read every profile here before it went live. Photos stay private until one of you accepts the other’s interest, and then you see each other’s. Your phone and email are never shown to anyone. Photos appear when she approves your request. Every interest you send carries a note you wrote, so make it count. Her contact details are never shown; she shares them if she wants to.

Structural, not promised

Three things you will never get here.

Every other platform puts privacy on a policy page. We took the three things that drive women away and built the product so they cannot happen.

  1. 01

    A public profile

There is no public profile page for anyone, and nobody can search until a person here has read and approved their profile. You choose who can find you at all; by default it is only men who match your preferences. Your cousin cannot stumble on you here.

  2. 02

    A firehose

Every interest has to carry a note he wrote by hand, at least forty characters of it, so nobody can bulk-send. Men outside your preferences cannot find you at all. And you can hide completely, for as long as you like, without deleting anything.

  3. 03

    A bill to use it

Searching, photos, interests, messages and calls are free for women, permanently. We will never charge you to hide your own photographs. A matchmaker is a separate service, and most women never need one.

Your matchmaker

Someone in your corner who is not in your circle.

Search yourself for free, or pay for her to do it for you. The fear that stops most women joining anything is simple: someone will find out. So the person who knows your file is deliberately someone who will never be at the same wedding.

A woman from the community
Someone who knows how families here actually do this, paid properly to do it for you.
Never from your city
Your matchmaker is never from your own city. She will not run into you at a wedding.
Every look is logged
Every time she opens your file, sees an Icebreaker number or writes a note, it is recorded against her name.
Yours to change
Ask for a different matchmaker at any time. You do not have to give a reason.
If she recognises you
She should hand your file to a colleague and tell you she has done it. You can also ask for a change yourself.

How it works for you

Three steps, none of them a form.

  1. 01

    Join in two minutes

Your name, mobile and email, and a code to confirm it. No photos needed to start. When you do add them, they are private by default and stay that way.

  2. 02

    Choose who can find you

All approved men, only men who match your preferences, or only Rishta matchmakers. The default is preferences-only. Change it whenever you like.

  3. 03

    Search, or be found

Search approved men yourself, or let the interests come to you, each one carrying something he had to write. Accept one and you see each other’s photos; say no and he is never told you looked.

Family

Your family, on your terms.

Most of us want our parents involved and none of us want them running the search. You decide what they see, and when.

Family View
A read-only page you can send your mother on WhatsApp. She needs no account and no app. It never shows your phone number or email, your photo is a separate choice, and you can switch the link off whenever you like.
A link you can take back
Change your mind and you can replace the link in one tap. The old one stops working immediately, including any copy already forwarded.
Nothing behind your back
A parent can help set up your profile with you, never without you. It is your marriage, so it is your profile.

A note from the founder

I spent six months on a paid plan on the biggest matrimonial site in the world, searching honestly for someone to marry from here. I found roughly ten men for every woman, a paid plan that produced nothing, and a fake profile I could make in minutes.

Rishta is what I wished had existed: women free with nothing held back, photos hidden until she says yes, every profile ID-checked before it goes live, every interest written by hand, no phone numbers on the page, and a matchmaker who is never from your own town. I built it because I am looking too.

Delete means delete. One tap removes your profile, your photos and your conversations. We keep nothing, and you will never get a “we miss you” email.

Questions women ask us

Can men browse me?
Only the ones you allow. By default, only men who match your stated preferences can find you at all — the rest cannot see you and so cannot write to you. You can open that up, or close it to matchmaker-only, at any time.
Do men see my name?
First name only. Your surname, your phone number and your email are never shown to anyone, at any membership level.
Do I have to upload photos?
No. You can join and receive interests without any, and your profile shows your initial instead. When you do add photos, each man sees them only after you have said yes to him specifically.
Does anybody check who these men are?
Yes. Every man checks his ID before his profile goes live: Didit reads his passport or licence, checks it is genuine and matches it to his live face, and to his main photo. Then a person on our team looks over his profile the same day. Nobody can search or be found before that.
Do I have to check my ID too?
Yes, everyone does, men and women alike. It is what keeps out fakes and time-pass, so the men here are serious about marriage. Nobody here sees your document: not the men, and not the Rishta team. Didit (third-party tool) checks it. It takes about two minutes, and your photos stay private until you say yes.
What happens when someone enlarges my photo?
It carries their own member number across it, not yours. If a picture of you turns up somewhere it should not be, the number on it says who took it.
Can I disappear for a while?
Yes. Hide your profile and nobody can find you, open you or write to you, and nothing is deleted. While you are hidden you cannot browse either — it is a pause, not a one-way mirror. Conversations you have already accepted carry on.
Is it really free?
Searching, your photos, interests, messages and calls are free for women forever, with no upgrade prompt. Men pay for exactly the same things. What costs money for everyone is a matchmaker working your file, because that is a person’s time rather than a feature we could switch on.
What can my parents see?
Your Family View page, if you switch it on: your profile as you wrote it, with no contact details, and your photo only if you chose to include it. They cannot log in as you and they cannot reply to anyone for you.

Two minutes: your name, your mobile and a code by email. Nobody sees your profile until you have checked your ID, and you decide who sees your photos.
