What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use exactly one, to keep you signed in.
Cookies we use
Essential cookie
RequiredOne cookie, rishta_session, keeps you signed in. It holds a random token and nothing about you, and it is removed when you sign out. Without it you cannot sign in.
Examples: rishta_session
Small remembering cookies
OptionalTwo, and only when they apply. rishta_site is set if you choose Australia or New Zealand in the footer, so we keep you on the site you picked; it holds only the number 1. rishta_src is set if you arrive through a link that carries a short label, such as a community group’s name, so we can count how people found us; it holds that label and nothing about you. Neither is shared with anyone.
Examples: rishta_site (1 year), rishta_src (30 days)
Preferences, not cookies
OptionalYour day or night choice and a few screen preferences are kept in your own browser’s storage. They are never sent to us, and clearing your browser removes them.
Examples: Theme, last search filters
What we don't do
- We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to ad networks.
- We do not use cross-site tracking cookies.
- We do not embed third-party social media scripts that track you.
- We do not use Google Analytics or Meta Pixel.
Managing cookies
We set no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and nothing is shared with advertisers. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, does not follow you from site to site and builds no profile of you; it tells us how many people opened which page, from which country, in which browser, and how fast the page loaded. Blocking the essential cookie signs you out; blocking the two small ones just means we forget your choice or the link you came from. To clear all Rishta cookies, log out and clear your browser's cookies for our domain.
