The South Asian community in Auckland is strongest in Papatoetoe, Ōtāhuhu, Manurewa, Takanini, Flat Bush, Botany and Māngere, and the Hindu community gathers around the temples in Papatoetoe, Mount Roskill and Avondale. Either of you can ask to turn cameras on mid-call, and the other has to agree first. You can switch calls off entirely and still write to people.
A matchmaker, never from your city: If you want a matchmaker, yours is never from your own city, so she will not run into you at a wedding. It is a paid service for women and men alike: an Icebreaker call is $39, and on Vichola ($1,199 for 3 months) she searches and approaches on your behalf. Can my parents be involved?

Yes. Family can pay for a son’s membership, can see a Family View page you choose the contents of, and can speak to your matchmaker with your consent. What they can’t do is put a profile live for someone who hasn’t agreed to it: the person on the profile checks their own ID first.

Can I filter by community and mother tongue?

Yes. Mother tongue, religion, community (with “caste no bar” always available), diet, family origin and residency status are all filters, and any of them can be a must-have.

A note from the founder

I spent six months on a paid plan on the biggest matrimonial site in the world, searching honestly for someone to marry from here. I found roughly ten men for every woman, a paid plan that produced nothing, and a fake profile I could make in minutes.
