A person read every profile here before it went live. Photos stay private until one of you accepts the other’s interest, and then you see each other’s. Your phone and email are never shown to anyone. Photos appear when she approves your request. Every interest you send carries a note you wrote, so make it count. Her contact details are never shown; she shares them if she wants to.
More than 95,000 people spoke Tamil at home in Australia at the 2021 census, drawn from both India and Sri Lanka, with the biggest communities in Sydney and Melbourne.
The South Asian community in Perth is strongest in Canning Vale, Piara Waters, Harrisdale, Bennett Springs and Ellenbrook. On Rishta you can search Perth alone, or widen it to the whole of Australia, or to Australia and New Zealand together.
For Tamil families a match is usually a question of language, community, whether the family is Indian Tamil or Sri Lankan Tamil, and often the horoscope. Those are different questions and Rishta keeps them as different fields: mother tongue, community with “no bar” always available, and family origin, which keeps India and Sri Lanka apart rather than pretending they are the same thing, with a native-place line for Madurai, Chennai or Jaffna.

A note from the founder
I spent six months on a paid plan on the biggest matrimonial site in the world, searching honestly for someone to marry from here. I found roughly ten men for every woman, a paid plan that produced nothing, and a fake profile I could make in minutes.
Rishta is what I wished had existed: women free with nothing held back, photos hidden until she says yes, every profile ID-checked before it goes live, every interest written by hand, no phone numbers on the page, and a matchmaker who is never from your own town. I built it because I am looking too.
