A person read every profile here before it went live. Photos stay private until one of you accepts the other’s interest, and then you see each other’s. Your phone and email are never shown to anyone. Photos appear when she approves your request. Every interest you send carries a note you wrote, so make it count. Her contact details are never shown; she shares them if she wants to.
South Australia had about 17,000 Sikhs at the 2021 census, a community that has grown quickly with skilled migration to Adelaide.
The northern suburbs around Salisbury and Mawson Lakes have the largest Punjabi presence.
The South Asian community in Adelaide is strongest in Salisbury, Mawson Lakes, Parafield Gardens, Athol Park and Woodville, and the Punjabi community gathers around the gurdwaras in Allenby Gardens and Glynde. On Rishta you can search Adelaide alone, or widen it to the whole of Australia, or to Australia and New Zealand together.
Punjabi families here want the same three things they wanted in Ludhiana or Jalandhar: to know the family, to know the person is who they say they are, and to not have the whole community watching while they look. Rishta is built around exactly those three. Members can filter by mother tongue, by religion (Sikh or Hindu Punjabi), by community with “caste no bar” always available, and by diet, and every Sikh profile says whether someone keeps kesh.
Built in, not promised

A note from the founder
I spent six months on a paid plan on the biggest matrimonial site in the world, searching honestly for someone to marry from here. I found roughly ten men for every woman, a paid plan that produced nothing, and a fake profile I could make in minutes.
Rishta is what I wished had existed: women free with nothing held back, photos hidden until she says yes, every profile ID-checked before it goes live, every interest written by hand, no phone numbers on the page, and a matchmaker who is never from your own town. I built it because I am looking too.
